“My 1965 TR4A has a vinyl soft top, the cream INSIDE is stained and badly mildew marked. Which of your products would be best to clean it or perhaps to dye it black if the marks do not come out?”
I will start by saying that unfortunately, Renovo do not manufacture a Reviver compatible for vinyl soft tops! We have had customer attempt to use the Soft Top Reviver suitable for fabric tops, on their vinyl top, which does not work, as the product is unable to absorb into the fibres and will therefore leave a horrendous finish.
However, we do manufacture a Vinyl Soft Top Cleaner and Vinyl Ultra Proofer, which would be ideal to refresh the inside of your soft top! Luckily both of these products are available on our website in the form of a twin pack!
I would advice cleaning the interior of your vinyl top using the Vinyl Soft Top Cleaner first with hot water, (the hotter the better, but try to not burn yourself!) but using a sponge rather than a brush to ensure you do not damage the material… You will also need to mask off your vehicle’s upholstery, and anywhere that you do not wish the product to drip on to.
After the inside of the top is dry and you are satisfied, you can then go ahead and protect it using the Vinyl Ultra Proofer!
I hope you found this information helpful, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions!
